Job Overview:

One of America's most successful manufacturers of filing cabinets and storage solutions is searching for a Facilities Mechanic/Fabricator for its Dover, Delaware location. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  1. Perform and document facility routine inpsections.
  2. Perform facility general repairs and upgrades.
  3. Fabricate machine guards, railings, tables, and other weldments.
  4. Assist with site service duties when required.
  5. Assist other facility team members are required and maintenance teams in production as needed.
  6. Conducts regular area audits and drive adaption of a high level of organization, visual control, and efficient use of space.
  7. Oversees the bulk of site inspections and safety improvements.
  8. Helps maintain the facility compliance database and associated compliance inspections monthly.
  9. Drives the execution and timely completion of facility project work including fabrication, pipefitting, construction and electrical.
  10. Oversees contractors and ensures all employees are following safety, quality and production policies and procedures.
  11. Monitors emailed work order entries, prioritizes response level and need to dispatch or plan work accordingly, and provides closure on communications.
  12. Assists production in departmental project scheduling and facility openings and closures.
  13. Conducts Maintenance department administrative duties and oversees continuous improvement projects as assigned including the planning of facility automation, process controls, and cost savings initiatives, and security systems.

Required Experience and Education:

  1. Experience with machinery and maintenance systems.
  2. Competent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making.
  3. Welding experience.
  4. Pipefitting skills.
  5. Excellent interpersonal skills, effective oral and written communication skills, and computer literacy.
  6. Formal industrial maintenance training.
  7. High School Equivalent and additional, relevant training.
  8. Must have own vehicle and good driving record.
  9. Must be able to respond to facility emergencies.
  10. Available to flex hours periodically to other shifts or weekends to access areas and complete objectives.
  11. Ability to read blueprints and complete small improvement projects with minimal oversight.
