Looking for a hands-on job where no two days are the same?
TLD is looking for a dependable, hands-on Facilities Maintenance Associate to help maintain our Windsor campus, including 26 acres and six buildings.
This is not a role where you will perform the same maintenance task every day. We are looking for someone who enjoys variety, knows their way around tools, can look at a problem and figure out how to solve it, and is willing to jump in wherever help is needed.
One day you might be repairing something in the facility, unclogging a drain, or taking care of a grounds issue. The next, you could be operating a forklift, helping reorganize a warehouse, supporting a larger facility project, or addressing an unexpected maintenance need.
If you consider yourself a jack-of-all-trades and enjoy being the person people call when something needs to get done, this could be a great fit!
What You'll Do
As part of our facilities team, you will help keep TLD's buildings, property, equipment, and work areas safe, functional, clean, and well maintained. Responsibilities may include:
- Perform general building and facility maintenance and repairs.
- Assist with plumbing, carpentry, plastering, basic electrical, mechanical, and other general maintenance projects.
- Perform scheduled inspections and preventative maintenance on facilities and equipment.
- Maintain grounds, parking areas, driveways, and other areas of the property.
- Troubleshoot unexpected maintenance issues and determine practical solutions when detailed instructions, blueprints, or schematics may not be available.
- Respond to changing maintenance needs and priorities throughout the day.
- Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and other equipment as needed and once properly trained/authorized.
- Assist with larger facility and company projects, including equipment moves, workspace changes, and warehouse reorganizations.
- Support cleanup activities, including appropriate handling of chemical spills or cleanup needs using established safety procedures and required PPE.
- Maintain maintenance supplies and ensure work areas remain stocked and organized.
- Follow established safety procedures and precautions during all maintenance activities.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly facility environment.
- Complete required documentation in accordance with ISO 9001 procedures.
- Pitch in with other facility needs and projects as assigned.
What We're Looking For
You don't necessarily need to be an expert in every trade. We are looking for someone who is mechanically inclined, comfortable working with their hands, and able to figure things out.
The right person for this role will be:
- Dependable and committed to showing up consistently and on time.
- Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
- A practical problem solver who can assess an issue, determine a solution, and carry it through.
- Flexible and able to shift priorities when an unexpected issue comes up.
- Comfortable working independently while also being a strong team player.
- Able to follow directions and communicate clearly with coworkers and supervisors.
- Someone who takes pride in doing the job correctly and safely.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Willing to tackle both the small everyday jobs and the much larger projects.
- Comfortable learning new tasks and jumping in where needed.
What to Expect
We want candidates to understand what this job is really like before joining the team.
This is a very active, hands-on position supporting a large manufacturing campus. You will spend much of your shift on your feet and walking between buildings and work areas. Priorities can change quickly depending on what is happening throughout the facility.
Some days will involve routine maintenance. Other days, something unexpected will come up and become the priority.
You should also be comfortable:
- Working throughout a 26-acre campus with six buildings.
- Being on your feet and walking for much of your shift.
- Working both indoors and outdoors as needed.
- Operating forklifts and scissor lifts after proper training/authorization.
- Working at heights, including from lifts reaching approximately** **26 feet.
- Safely handling or assisting with chemical cleanup using appropriate procedures and PPE.
- Taking on a wide variety of assignments rather than staying within one specific trade or task.
- Working in an environment where priorities can change quickly.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience with general maintenance, facilities, construction, property maintenance, mechanical work, trades, or another hands-on environment is preferred.
- General knowledge of basic facility repairs and maintenance is preferred.
- Familiarity with electrical fixtures or automotive/industrial-style electrical wiring is a plus.
- Forklift experience or certification is a plus.
- Ability and willingness to learn additional equipment and maintenance responsibilities as needed.
