Job Description

As the Fire Alarm and Mass Communication Systems Engineer, you will serve as the subject matter expert for all related systems within the Facilities Engineering Organization. In this key role, you will evaluate current system configurations, define a modernization roadmap, and lead the development and execution of next-generation solutions. You will be responsible for integrating fire alarm and mass communication systems with existing and future building management infrastructure to ensure continuity of critical capabilities.
What You Will Be Doing:
System Evaluation & Roadmap Development:
Assess and document current fire alarm and mass communication system capabilities and infrastructure across the site.
Research industry best practices and available technologies to determine the optimal system architecture for future needs.
Lead the development, programming, and implementation of the selected system, including a scalable front-end user interface and upgradable database architecture.
Ensure seamless integration with existing and next-gen building management systems to preserve or enhance current functionality.
Project & Construction Support:
Maintain accurate as-built record drawings and documentation.
Support construction activities related to fire alarm responsibilities and code compliance.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders, engineering disciplines, and A&E firms to ensure design alignment, cost-efficiency, and schedule adherence.
Review and interpret applicable building codes, developing and applying criteria to all relevant projects.
Technical Design & Documentation:
Prepare drawings, specifications, and reports for complex fire alarm and mass communication projects.
Make design decisions and recommendations based on technical evaluation and project requirements.
Perform comprehensive technical reviews and provide guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
System Planning & Lifecycle Management:
Conduct lifecycle and capacity/demand analyses of fire alarm and mass communication utility systems to support future growth.
Analyze critical system dependencies and risks, and develop recommendations to ensure uninterrupted service.
Serve as the technical point of contact for system-related issues, providing expert support to the Facilities and Maintenance teams.
Additional Requirements:
Willingness to work overtime as needed to support emergency situations or high-priority initiatives.
Must be highly detail-oriented with the ability to manage complex system interdependencies and drive cross-functional collaboration.

Ability to work remotely

Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $95,000 - $167,440. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.

Premium Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $109,200 - $189,290. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
