  • Lead oversight of project engineering solutions for LV and MV power in commercial/industrial buildings; corroborates/coordinates with other design team members including client, site/civil and mechanical engineers to ensure electrical systems are integrated with the project’s goals.
  • Lead the design, design oversight, and execution of low to medium voltage (typically 1kV to 35kV) distribution systems for infrastructure. Responsible for developing and coordinating system reliability plans through assessments, design review and power system studies. 
  • System Design: Develop detailed engineering designs for systems, including the review/selection and specification of transformers, switchgear, breakers, and cables.
  • Protection Schemes: Review/Design protection and control (P&C) schemes. This includes developing protective relay settings (e.g., SEL or Basler) and creating relaying diagrams and control schematics.
  • Prior experience in facilities infrastructure and/or utility-scale microgrids.
  • Execute electrical designs in accordance with the company's standards and specific client standards where applicable. 
  • Understanding of electrical distribution equipment and workspace requirements; general power associated with mission critical data centers and experience with office, laboratories and secure facilities; lighting layout, circuitry and lighting controls.
  • Use Revit to model electrical system components in accordance with the departments and client’s procedures and standards 
  • Prepare backup documentation to support design efforts including but not limited to load calculations, voltage drop calculations, lighting power density using ComCheckEZ and lighting illumination levels. 
  • Maintains strong understanding of applicable Codes and Standards

Required Skills and Education

•    Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
•    15+ years’ experience and designing electrical systems in high performance facilities.
•    Proficient in computer use and software’s including, but not limited to; AutoCAD, Revit, Excel, Word, Bluebeam, Navisworks. 
•    Communcation skills sufficient to work directly with directors, managers and customers, so professionalism is necessary.
•    Background in engineering design of electrical systems as well as the components of distribution
•    Ability to use good judgement and make decisions with authority.
 

Preferred Skills and Education

  • Experience in execution of large-scale, multi-year capital projects
  • Professional Engineering license is a plus.
  • Demonstrated success developing direct reports through effective leadership and the setting of realistic but challenging goals
  • Experience with construction and renovation projects. Aerospace and defense industry requiring adherence to specific ICDs and DoD construction standards is a plus
  • Proficiency with construction design software solutions such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam Revu
