What We're Doing
We are looking for an experienced Facilities Building Management System (BMS) Controls Engineer to join our team. Our Facilities group ensures efficient operations across our infrastructure, playing a critical role in supporting Lockheed Martin’s leadership in the aerospace and defense industry.

The Work
As a BMS Controls Engineer, you will design, implement, and maintain building management systems, with a focus on energy efficiency, reliability, and sustainability. Responsibilities include:

Troubleshooting BMS issues related to HVAC, lighting, and security systems.

Optimizing energy use through system improvements and efficiency projects.

Collaborating with electrical, mechanical, and plumbing teams for system integration.

Training facilities personnel on BMS operations and best practices.

Creating and maintaining system documentation and technical records.

Leading BMS design efforts for new construction and renovations.

Conducting energy audits and implementing energy-saving recommendations.

Managing budgets and coordinating with vendors and contractors.

Staying current on industry trends and emerging technologies.

Implementing commissioning plans and identifying cybersecurity and operational risks.

Please note: This position is fulltime onsite in Orlando, FL.


Who You Are
You are a driven, detail-oriented engineer passionate about building operations and energy management. You possess:

A degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) or equivalent experience.

Expertise in Building Management Systems (BMS) and controls.

Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems.

Experience with energy management and sustainable practices.

Ability to manage projects, collaborate across teams, and communicate complex technical information clearly.

Basic Qualifications

3+ years of experience in BMS and controls engineering, preferably in a facilities or industrial setting with controls and/or coding certifications

· Strong knowledge of BMS and controls systems, including HVAC, lighting, and security systems

· Experience with BMS and controls software, such as Siemens, Johnson Controls, or Trane

Desired skills

· Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree

· Experience writing code and operation programs for BMS software

· Programming skills in languages, such as C++, Java, or Python.

· Experience with project management principles, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.

· Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects

Ability to work remotely

Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $77,700 - $136,965. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.

Premium Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $89,300 - $154,905. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
