Job Description

Fabricates products such as hatches, frames, doors, and windows; uses steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Can include: bending, flattening, welding, cutting, shearing, straightening, grinding, sanding, routering, fitting, inspecting, and assembling. 
• Provides direction to Fabricators at Level II and I

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Requires high school diploma or GED
• 2-5 years welding and/or fabrication experience
• Requires welding certifications for government and private contracts (can be obtained on the job)
• Requires some higher education or vocational training specializing in welding and fabrication 
• Can use/read a tape measure; use general construction tools, such as grinder, router, sander

PREFERRED SKILLS

• Excellent knowledge of fabrication with ability to work independently with little or no supervision
• Understanding and familiarity of all other departments at company
• Ability to read drawings, blueprints and customer provided specification sheets
• Very good mechanical and math skills, including decimals and fractions

OTHER

• Work is performed in an unheated manufacturing facility with exposure to noise, aluminum dust, and hazardous materials such as paint thinner, acetone and cleaners
• Using appropriate lifting and PPE must be able to push, pull, lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds
• Job requires constant standing, heavy lifting, extensive close work, and excessive noise
