Job Overview:

**Job Summary

**

Responsible for transforming raw materials into parts and components by sawing, punching, cutting, drilling, bending, and other fabrication processes in compliance with quality standards and engineering drawings. Works collaboratively with other fabricators and departments to meet production schedules, minimize delays, and maintain efficiency and quality.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities

**

  • Operate multiple fabrication machines, including laser, brake press, panel bender, etc., and other assigned equipment.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, manufacturing drawings, and work instructions accurately.

  • Verify materials against specifications and packing slips to ensure correct product receipt.

  • Produce quality parts within prescribed time standards to meet production goals.

  • Accurately record labor hours and work order information in designated systems.

  • Complete operator equipment and maintenance checklists to ensure machine reliability.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.

  • Participate in a team-based, positive work environment and demonstrate effective conflict resolution skills.

  • Measure and inspect parts to verify compliance with quality requirements using appropriate tools (tape measure, calipers, squares, protractor, height gauge, etc.).

  • Comply with PPE requirements and all company safety programs.

  • Initiate and participate in cost-saving and quality improvement projects.

  • Safely operate forklifts, jibs, and cranes for material handling.

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support department and company objectives.

**

  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.

  • Proficient in operating fabrication machinery and using measuring tools.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Good communication skills and professional conduct.

  • Basic math skills, including proportions, percentages, and geometric calculations.

  • Demonstrates initiative, reliability, and strong work ethic.

**Education and Experience Required

**

  • High school diploma or GED required, or equivalent experience.

  • Previous experience in metal fabrication or manufacturing preferred.

  • Combination of education and experience will be considered.

**Physical Demands

**

  • Frequent standing and sitting; occasional walking, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.

  • Regularly lift and move up to 40 lbs.

  • Manual dexterity for handling tools and components.

**

  • Ability to maintain focus on quality and accuracy under time constraints.

  • Short-term and long-term planning for efficient workflow.

**Work Environment

**

  • Production floor setting with occasional office tasks.

  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, and airborne particles.

  • Noise level ranges from moderate to loud; PPE required.
