1st Shift: Monday - Thursday (6AM - 4PM) with OT on Friday
2nd Shift: Monday - Thursday (8PM - 6AM) with OT on Friday (+$2.50/hour Shift Premium)
3rd Shift: (Weekends) Friday - Sunday (6AM - 6PM) with OT 1 day per week (+$1.00 Shift Premium) (+4 hours Pay Premium)
(NOTE: All Full Time Shifts currerequire 20 hours OT per month)
(Part time schedules are also available)

Don't have any experience? NO PROBLEM! We offer paid on-the-job training with our skill-based pay system. This means that you will receive additional compensation for every skill that you complete. Learn skills as a Press Brake Operator, Laser Operator, Welder and Metal Finishing.
Starting pay is $18.35 per hour. (Additional pay may be available based on experience.)
Note: Training may be required on First Shift Only
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Fabrication Technicians setup, program, and run all our metal fabrication machines which include lasers, turret, EMLK, press brakes and welding. Fabrication Technicians will learn to read and interpret blueprints, use measuring equipment, handle materials, troubleshoot, perform quality inspections, and perform preventative maintenance.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- No manufacturing experience required.
- Analytical and mathematical skills to interpret layouts and blueprints.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems as they occur.
- Physical requirements – person must stand for the entire shift, lift up to 50 pounds repetitively throughout the shift, and have good balance along with hand-eye-foot coordination.
- Basic computer skills for data entry are required
- Must be self-motivated, team player and have good written and oral communication skills.
- This is an in-person position, regular attendance is required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each skill satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Set-up and operate lasers, turret, EMLK and press brakes.
- Weld and metal finish components as specified by layouts, engineer drawings, work orders, or verbal instructions.
- Perform tasks such as selecting operating programs from database, send the program to the machine, select and mount fixtures.
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with SMC’s policies and procedures.
- Set-up and troubleshoot machine as problems arise.
- Operate the Wilson tool sharpener and sheet lifting crane.
- Use measuring instruments such as caliper, square, protractor, etc.
- Ensure quality parts.
- Operator is responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance.
- Duties may be modified or additional duties assigned.
