Job Overview:

**Responsibilities:

**

  • Promote and enforce a safe work environment by ensuring all fabrication employees consistently wear required PPE and follow established safety procedures.

  • Plan and coordinate machine schedules to meet production deadlines and maintain efficient workflow.

  • Monitor and maintain accurate production counts and inventory records for all fabricated parts.

  • Collaborate with Fabrication Leads to prioritize machine setups based on production schedules, open orders, and material availability.

  • Assign production personnel to appropriate workstations, ensuring they understand job requirements, standard operating procedures, quality standards, and safety expectations.

  • Ensure employees accurately record labor and production data in the SAP system, maintaining complete and accurate production records.

  • Oversee adherence to quality control procedures, including first-piece inspections, operator in-process quality checks, and documentation requirements.

  • Coordinate first article inspections with the Quality Supervisor, ensuring approved reference samples remain at each workstation throughout production.

  • Partner with the Laser Machine Operator to optimize machine scheduling and program selection in alignment with production requirements.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by implementing Lean Manufacturing principles to improve productivity, reduce waste, and enhance operational efficiency.

  • Maintain organized work areas and proper material storage to support efficient production flow and workplace safety.

  • Ensure all production documentation, compliance records, and reporting requirements are completed accurately and on time.

  • Support departmental operations by performing additional duties and special projects as assigned.

  • Maintain a commitment to delivering 100% quality from the fabrication department.

**Qualifications:

**

  • Hands-on experience operating a variety of fabrication equipment, including press brakes, shears, cold saws, tube benders, and drill presses.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.

  • Proficient in reading tape measures and performing basic dimensional measurements.

  • Basic computer proficiency; experience with SAP or other ERP systems is a plus (training provided as needed).

  • Strong mathematical, reading, written, verbal communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity.

**Certification

**

  • Valid Forklift Certification or the ability to obtain certification.
