Weekends & overtime as needed/required
The Machinist position supports daily plant operation in various machine shop activities, including new fabrication and repairs of existing equipment, shaping head tooling, etc. Working as an integral part of our Machining team, you will help produce machine parts as outlined in engineering specifications and drawings.
Summary of Job Duties
- Operate and maintain all equipment in Machine Shop, including manual lathes and mills.
- Maintain and order supplies to ensure the continuing supply of equipment parts.
- Read, interpret, and understand geometric dimensions & tolerances on blueprints & engineering drawings.
- Perform setup and operation of manual mill, lathe, and drill press to produce parts.
- Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines.
- Work with close tolerances on machined parts.
- Work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Set-Up, and Technical groups regarding repairs or fabrication of new items.
- Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
- Maintain lines of communication with peers and other departments and report issues to management as required.
Work Environment
This position will be exposed to a manufacturing environment that is non-climate controlled, with noise levels that are moderate to loud and requiring associates to wear hearing and eye protection.
Physical Demands
Standing, walking, bending, stooping, grip/grasping, twisting, reaching above head, climbing stairs and ladders, working on or below ground levels. Lifting and carrying 40-80 pounds, use of tools, and other industrial equipment. Ability to wear all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Qualifications
Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret color manuals, blueprints, schematic drawings, and other instructions.
- Ability to effectively problem-solve required repairs and fabrications.
- Respond in a timely manner to requests for work from the Machine Shop.
- Ability and knowledge in using precision instruments.
- Will provide your own basic tools.
- Ability to accurately complete documentation and records.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and interact with all levels of the organization.
Education and Experience
- Production/Manufacturing experience preferred
- Experience or education in machine shop operations is strongly preferred.
- Welding and fabrication experience is required
- Detailed working knowledge of manual lathes and mills and other metal-working tools
- Forklift Certified
- CPR Certified or ability to become CPR certified
- HS Diploma or equivalent
Work Authorization/ Security Clearance
