Description

Principal Objective of Position:                                                                                                     

The Production Planner-Logistic Analyst has overall responsibility for efficient and accurate translation of production requirements from customer order entry and MRP forecasted demand, to promising/acknowledging and subsequent tracking through order completion, along with scheduling equipment and dispatching drivers for movement of materials, support sales in requesting and compiling pricing and distribute load pickups to various contracted haulers.  Responsibilities include leadership for material planning and scheduling, outside processing, capacity planning and analysis along with other duties related to material management and inventory control. This position requires the ability to lead a team and interact with executive leadership via succinct quantitative and qualitative measures

  • Process ownership of order acknowledgement, entry, promising and tracking within Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012
  • Formalize/document the Master Scheduling process to be conducted daily to provide clear direction to operations in accordance with customer requirements and our acknowledgements
  • Capacity planning analysis via Microsoft Dynamics AX to support existing and new business efficiently
  • Management of Material Planning and Outside Processes to optimize “On Time Delivery” while minimizing costs.  This includes, but is not limited to supporting daily production and related expedites and unforeseen schedule revisions
  • Close collaboration with peers in sales, operations, accounting, engineering, and purchasing
  • Ensure timely and efficient movement of materials
  • Coordinate OSP inbound and outbound movements to various locations
  • Arrange for customer carriers to take loads through their portals/carriers as needed
  • Make the most cost-effective load planning decision to optimize profitability within LSA Fab

Qualifications


Education and Experience Required:

  • 3+ years of Material planning and Scheduling with Microsoft or related software
  • Green Belt or Lean Management equivalent certification preferred
  • 5+ years in related manufacturing environment leading processes associated with planning, scheduling, capacity planning and materials management

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:                                                                                  

  • Proven proficiency in all Microsoft office applications, emphasis on Excel and associated data-base management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft AX Dynamics 2012 preferred
  • Demonstrated Material and Planning process “hands on” and team leadership
  • Knowledge of principles, methods, and costs for moving materials by road
  • Ability to schedule the shop and inbound and outbound shipments
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely in written and verbal formats
  • Demonstrated capability to develop strong interpersonal working relationships and direct, lead and work in a team environment
  • Managerial acumen to identify, develop and mentor talent within the organization for growth potential
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Must have the ability to work on a team and individually with little supervision

 

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:                                                                                                                

  • IT or Mathematics background a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related area preferred
