Lockheed Martin is seeking an Training Operations Manager (TOM) to support F-35 operations in Amendola, Italy.
The selected candidate will manage the daily activities of the Training Operations team for the F-35 Program. Supports military pilot flight procedures in maintaining qualification levels using the Full Mission Simulators and Mission Rehearsal Trainers by executing the approved pilot training syllabi, upgrade, and tactics training.
Primary duties include:
• Build, coordinate and schedule daily training-related activities and manage all RMS Permanent Party and TDY personnel. This will include the logistical coordination for VARs, base access and badging, SOU-U/SOU-C access, lodging and site integration.
• Daily coordination with ITAF/ITN to merge training priorities into a coherent, executable schedule to support all customer needs.
• Daily coordination with ITAF/ITN scheduling, training, and standardization/evaluation shops to ensure proper training flow and execution of the B-Model courses, to include syllabus adherence, instructor availability and grade sheet completion.
• Manage and assist in the maintenance and advancement of the site’s training devices, to include courseware and IT equipment arrival and integration, hardware and software installs, audits and other related activities, as directed by the RMS Enterprise team.
• Oversee B-Model course preparation, to include Scenario Generation development for all B-Model syllabi missions. Also ensure briefing guides and other instructional materials are converted to Italian standards for use by RMS CIPs.
• Direct B-Model course support by running additional Sim missions on the console (IOS), and flying Sims as a formation member, when needed, to provide appropriate number of formation members, per syllabus requirements.
Additional duties:
• Prepares training and upgrade missions for customer.
• Assists in the preparation of training and maintenance schedules, compliance of personnel training records, and adherence to enterprise standards.
• Evaluates and monitors students’ performance from course start through graduation.
• Acts as a subject matter expert by applying advanced technical concepts in aviation and provide assistance in creation of training material.
• This position is typically represented by an experienced pilot.
• The successful candidate will work closely with other Lockheed Martin team members at other training sites to fulfill F-35 schoolhouse and continuation training objectives.
• The successful candidate will implement and support Lockheed Martin initiatives, programs, and policies, as directed.
Job may require flexible work schedule to provide coverage for on-site customer requirements.

Basic Qualifications
• Candidate must have an active Secret clearance, final clearance adjudication within the last five years, and be able to qualify for and hold a SAP clearance.
• Candidate must have in-depth knowledge of fourth and/or fifth generation aircraft systems, operational experience with advanced sensor systems such as Night Vision devices, EO/IR targeting systems, Helmet Mounted Cuing, and the latest air to-surface and air-to-air weapons inventory.
• Must have in depth knowledge of military publications and an understanding of fourth and/or fifth generation aircraft training operations.
• Candidate must have prior experience delivering military pilot academics and simulator training, and be familiar with current instructional techniques.
• Proven experience working in a collaborative environment with cross-functional teams and stakeholders from varied backgrounds.
• Candidate must have outstanding interpersonal skills, excellent leadership traits, strong oral & written communication abilities, solid organizational ability, and a high desire to provide customer satisfaction.
• Position requires demonstrated leadership skills and extensive professional experience in managing operations personnel supporting customer mission readiness at dedicated training and operational installations.
• Must be a proven leader with a management style aligned to LM core values and Full Spectrum Leadership imperatives.
• Must have experience evaluating personnel performance and completing performance appraisals.
• Four-year degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education, with professional experience and specialized training commensurate with assignment.
• Use of Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) is required.
Desired skills
• Previous experience as an F-35 Contractor Instructor Pilot (CIP) or F-35 Pilot Subject Matter (SME) experience.
• 1000+ hours Fighter Flight Time in fourth and/or fifth generation fighter aircraft.
• Current or demonstrated experience as an USAF/USN/USMC IP with multi-role fighter experience.
• Former Weapon School, Top Gun, or MAWTS graduate desired. Fifth generation Full Mission Simulator (FMS) experience as an operator and/or instructor.
• Familiarity with F-35 tactics, techniques, and procedures
• Familiarity with F-35 program requirements.

Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $139,600 - $246,100. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
