About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Extrusion Supervisor to lead and support employees in an aluminum extrusion manufacturing environment in Indianapolis, IN.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with 6000-series aluminum extrusion, along with manufacturing and leadership experience. This is a hands-on supervisory role responsible for keeping the extrusion department running safely and efficiently while meeting production priorities, quality expectations, and delivery schedules.
What You'll Do
- Directly supervise, support, and coach employees in the Extrusion department.
- Oversee day-to-day aluminum extrusion operations, ensuring production goals are met.
- Process and prioritize production orders to support on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Support extrusion production involving 6000-series aluminum alloys.
- Ensure production activities meet safety, quality, productivity, and delivery requirements.
- Recognize and address production, safety, quality, and scheduling concerns.
- Provide hands-on leadership and guidance to team members.
- Work with employees and other departments to resolve production issues and improve operations.
- Maintain a safe, productive, and professional work environment.
- Support continuous improvement, training, and employee development initiatives.
- Become cross-trained in multiple areas to support changing department and business needs.
- Read and interpret blueprints and manufacturing documentation.
- Use Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Work flexible hours, overtime, and participate in on-call coverage when needed.
What We're Looking For
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3+ years of manufacturing experience.
- Hands-on experience with 6000-series aluminum extrusion.
- Strong understanding of aluminum extrusion processes, equipment, and department operations.
- Strong communication and listening skills.
- Ability to identify and respond to workplace safety concerns.
- Ability to lead, influence, and support a manufacturing team.
- Blueprint reading experience.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
Preferred:
- 2+ years of aluminum extrusion experience.
- 2+ years of manufacturing leadership or supervisory experience.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- Experience working with different aluminum extrusion profiles, processes, and production requirements.
