Description
PURPOSE: Train and develop the extrusion department to understand, meet and/or exceed production standards.
JOB DUTIES:
- Train production floor associates to safely and effectively operate extrusion equipment.
- Able to learn the extrusion equipment functionalities and train others based on acquired knowledge.
- Able to troubleshoot equipment issues and train operators in situational circumstances using cause and effect.
- Able to understand and run the production equipment consistently while meeting or exceeding quality standards.
- Collaborate with the Manager to identify company training needs.
- Understand the importance of safety, quality, productivity, scrap goals and machine standards.
- Schedule meaningful training sessions/workshops.
- Plan and implement an effective training curriculum.
- Able to understand production schedule and Work Order process
- Prepare hard copy training materials such as module summaries, videos, SOP’s and presentations.
- Able to communicate with maintenance daily and report any mechanical or unsafe issues.
- Work in a team environment and in a professional manner when working with other associates and/or vendors.
- Evaluate associate performance and review learnings.
- Conceptualize training materials based on data and research.
- Attending Company meetings.
- Good overall knowledge of the day-to-day tasks involved in keeping the conversion department operational.
- Work flexible schedules (Including nights and weekend shifts as needed)
Qualifications
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent and/or 5 years’ experience
- Proficient computer skills
- Bilingual English – Spanish is a plus
- Basic mathematics
- Ability to read tape measure
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), American Institute of Baking (AIB) principles, and FSSC 22000.
- Ability to create job aides and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Follow up with associates post training and provide feedback for Continuous Improvement.
- Experience with technologies and best practice methods for instructional manuals and teaching platforms.
- Knowledge in 6/S and SQF.
- Rosmiman System: to add detailed work for maintenance to address equipment breakdown as well as to train the associates on adding and following on the work orders.
ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Ability to lift 50 pounds continuously
- Ability to stand for long periods on hard surfaces
- Ability to perform in an environment that is not climate-controlled
