ATI is hiring an Extrusion Manufacturing Process Technician for our Albany, Oregon facility. In this role you will be responsible for providing tooling design and process support for the Extrusion Department. Specific responsibilities will include tooling design, procurement, and inventory management for the Extrusion Press, Pilger Mills, and supporting equipment.  In addition, this position will be responsible for the development, design, and management of critical process parameters for the extrusion and tube reduction processes; as well as providing applicable coaching and education to the organization.

 

To be successful as an Extrusion Manufacturing Process Technician, you should have in-depth knowledge of metalwork and engineering, a good eye for detail, and the ability to visualize structural components. A competitive candidate is able to translate ideas into expertly crafted metal forms ready for the manufacturing process; and be able to effectively troubleshoot complex manufacturing processes.

 

Additional Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, design schematics and CAD drawings.
  • Generate and interpret complex mathematical curves and designs using spreadsheets and drafting software.
  • Generate 2D/3D drawings and models in support of tooling design.
  • Design and manage tooling for the Extrusion Press and Pilger Mills.
  • Develop and maintain inventory database for department controlled non-product inventory.
  • Work with Product Engineers to design and manage critical process parameters for the Extrusion Process, as well as reduction pass schedules for the Pilger Mills.
  • Prioritize Journeyman Machinist workload to support department tooling needs.
  • Collect and evaluate critical process data using applicable data collection and analysis systems.
