Job Overview:

IMMEDIATELY HIRING Extrusion Operators for our Franklin Park location. Do you have at least one year of experience operating Extrusion or Thermoforming machines? If you enjoy working with your hands, have the ability to problem solve and troubleshoot mechanical issues as they arise and a strong desire to grow your career then this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

Shift: 7:00 am to 7:00pm with every other weekend off

Responsibilities:

  • Consistently and safely operates machines at or above standard levels of operation including waste, quality, efficiency and utilization
  • Trouble shoot, identify and correct machine related problems through proper adjustments to various parts of the machine
  • Provide innovative solutions for production issues
  • Provides support and guidance to less experienced personnel
  • Completes appropriate end of shift paperwork, accounting for crewing time, machine time, and production quantities
  • Able to inspect and recognize defective product and make machine adjustments to correct cause of defects
  • Observes all housekeeping, standard work and safety guidelines
  • Mechanical aptitude, demonstrated problem solving skills and effective communication skills - written and verbal are required

Qualifications:

  • 1+ years' working in a manufacturing environment as an Extrusion Machine Operator

  • Experience and willingness to work 12 hour rotating scheules including every other weekend

  • Ability to show up for work prior to shift and be prepared to get the day going on time

  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting experience working with Extrusion Machines

  • Excellent communication skills, detailed record keeping per the prescribed frequency

  • Analytical and math skills

  • Ability to perform quality checks and have an understanding of production measurement tools

  • Knowledge of product quality standards

  • Comfortable wearing PPE such as hairnets, beard-nets, steel toed shoes/boots, ear protection and bump-caps when required

  • Manual dexterity

You should be proficient in:

  • Plastic Extrusion Experience
  • Thermoforming Experience
