PURPOSE OF JOB:
The key component is to conduct all quality control laboratory testing on finished goods, claim samples as well as components of finished products. This individual will be responsible for the collection of materials, testing and reporting of test results. Must be able to interpret and report on pass/fail criteria for various testing procedures, as well as produce, maintain and distribute lab reports, graphs and spreadsheets. Assist in the deployment of World Class Manufacturing into laboratory environment and sustain recent continuous improvement projects.
NEEDED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Programs.
Must be capable of operating or learning to operate a variety of laboratory equipment and measuring devices.
Must have mathematical ability to accurately perform the calculations required by the various test methods used in the lab.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Capable of working with minimum supervision in a team environment.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new and changing job responsibilities.
Willingness to work adjusted hours and/or overtime on short notice.
Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. on a regular basis and up to 50 lbs. on occasion.
Must be able to pass a color acuity test, such as Munsell
High School Diploma or equivalent.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
Operation of SAP Software.
Prior World Class or Lean Manufacturing experience.
Any previous experience in carpet manufacturing.
