Job Description

We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Team Leader – YEI to work as part of a two-person extruder operator team. This position is responsible for assisting the YEI Specialist with the safe and efficient operation of the YEI machine while supporting production, material handling, quality, and housekeeping activities.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, following instructions, working as part of a team, and maintaining a strong focus on safety and productivity.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Locate and load required materials onto the YEI conveyor belt to keep the machine running efficiently.
• Set rolls of non-woven material to feed the shredder/compactor.
• Load materials onto the dump table when processing regrind and mixing it with non-woven materials.
• Pick up purge materials and properly deposit them into boxes or Gaylords.
• Keep the YEI work area clean, organized, and free of unnecessary materials.
• Empty trash containers when full.
• Assist the YEI Team Leader and YEI Specialist with machine servicing and preventative maintenance (PMs) as needed.
• Remove full boxes from the scales and replace them with clean, empty boxes equipped with liners.
• Record box weights accurately on the production sheet.
• Assist with tracking machine productivity and monitoring downtime.
• Assist the YEI Specialist with troubleshooting and resolving production issues.
• Complete required traceability documentation at the end of each shift.
• Follow instructions provided by the YEI Specialist, supervisor, and Wellmark management.
• Clean and visually inspect the machine at the beginning of each shift.
• Cut non-woven plastic rolls as required for production.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
• Perform other production-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of manufacturing or production experience preferred.
• Previous machine operation experience is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively with others in a team environment.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to perform physical tasks associated with material handling and production.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to bend, reach, lift, push, and pull as required.
• Ability to safely handle production materials.
• Ability to work around manufacturing machinery and equipment.
• Must be able to follow all required safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.

Key Expectations

The Team Leader – YEI is expected to support the YEI Specialist, maintain consistent material flow, assist with machine operation and troubleshooting, maintain accurate production records, and help ensure the work area remains safe, clean, and productive.
