Experinced TIG Welder (#8839)
**Location: **Pewaukee, WI 53072
**Shift: **3rd shift (7:00pm - 5:15am)
- MUST BE ABLE TO BE TRAINED ON 1st SHIFT
Rate: $22 - $28/hour
We are currently hiring for a skilled TIG Welder on 3rd shift in Pewaukee, WI. This position will start off on 1st shift for initial training purposes, but will transistion to 3rd shift after training is completed.
This position requires a high level of skill and precision in TIG welding various metals while meeting strict quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have strong blueprint-reading skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to producing high-quality welds in a fast-paced manufacturing or fabrication environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform TIG welding on a variety of materials such as stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel
- Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings
- Set up and operate welding equipment, including adjusting amperage and gas flow as required
- Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet quality, dimensional, and cosmetic standards
- Grind, finish, and repair welds as necessary
- Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with OSHA and company safety standards
- Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment
- Work closely with supervisors, engineers, and other team members to meet production schedules
- Document work completed and report any defects or issues
Qualifications
- High School diploma and some**
TIG welding experience** (production or fabrication environment preferred)
- MIG welding experince is nice to have
- Proven ability to weld thin-gauge and precision components
- Strong understanding of welding procedures and metallurgy
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols
- Experience welding stainless steel and aluminum required
- Knowledge of quality control standards and inspection techniques
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Preferred Skills and Certifications
- AWS TIG welding certification (or equivalent)
- Experience with aerospace, medical, food-grade, or high-precision welding applications
- Familiarity with weld testing methods (visual, dye penetrant, etc.)
- Experience using jigs, fixtures, and fixturing tools
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to X lbs
- Good hand–eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Ability to work in a manufacturing or shop environment
