The American Red Cross is seeking an Executive Director to support the District of Columbia within the National Capital and Greater Chesapeake Region.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
We are currently seeking a professional, innovative, and enthusiastic Executive Director for our District of Columbia Chapter. Our offices are in Northwest Washington at our Red Cross Headquarters building, but we serve the entire city. This position is an external-facing role focusing on community relations/capacity building (focused on areas requiring more resiliency), fundraising, and board leadership. This candidate must be comfortable being the face of the Red Cross in the District. This position supports region-partnered mission initiatives by providing facilitative leadership to local teams and updating regional leadership on the community's needs and perceptions. Incumbents will also be responsible for strengthening relationships with our community partners by educating them on the programs and opportunities the American Red Cross offers. The Executive Director in this region is responsible for regional solid engagement and fundraising goals set by the National Headquarters team. This position reports to the Regional Executive, serves as the primary liaison to the community, and is supported by Community Volunteer Leaders and the Chapter Board.

Education: A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
Management Experience: NA
Skills & Abilities: Ability to work on a team.
Travel: May travel and participate in meetings and conferences throughout territory, state, and Red Cross system.
Physical Requirements
Physical requirements are those present in normal office environment conditions. Operational flexibility is required to meet sudden and unpredictable needs. Ability to use a personal computer, applicable software, and office equipment for sustained periods of time. May include sitting for long periods, driving a vehicle, and working under challenging conditions.

SALARY INFORMATION: The salary range for this position is $95,000 – 110,000 + incentives
Note that the American Red Cross sets salary ranges aligned to a specific geographic location in which the work is performed. The stated salary range in this posting is an average. The specific salary information will be shared at the time of phone screening based upon your location and qualifications.
