The Vice President, Manufacturing provides strategic leadership and operational direction for all manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for implementing the organization’s manufacturing vision and direction; leading multi-site operations; and achieving business, technical, schedule, revenue, and profitability objectives. The Vice President, Manufacturing supports business growth through the development of new opportunities, strategic partnerships, alliances, and joint ventures that enhance organizational capabilities.
Oversee multi-site, vertically integrated manufacturing activities to achieve technical, business, schedule, and financial objectives while maintaining a worldwide reputation for technical leadership and excellence.
Establish annual technical, business, and financial objectives.
Direct the allocation of technical, financial, and human capital resources to attain or exceed business objectives.
Oversee implementation of current business objectives and collaborate with senior executives to develop long-range strategic objectives.
Direct workforce planning, selection, retention, and development to ensure the availability of required management, technical, and production talent.
Represent the Company in business relationships with customers, suppliers, partners, and global business and non-business communities.
Identify, evaluate, and support new business opportunities, partnerships, alliances, and joint ventures that enhance manufacturing capabilities and support strategic growth.
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, contractual obligations, and other requirements wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
Ensure work is performed safely and in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
Extensive manufacturing experience, typically 25 years or more, within a vertically integrated manufacturing environment.
Technical background and education, including thorough and comprehensive management, planning, and implementation experience supporting new system and equipment development through production.
Demonstrated experience with large-system fabrication, including welding and machining; high-power electronics; and electronic and electrical assembly and test manufacturing.
Broad, cross-functional technical expertise related to the Company’s business areas, including manufacturing operations, engineering, quality, supply chain, production, program management, workforce development, and capital planning.
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans; establish measurable technical, business, and financial objectives; manage complex resources; and drive continuous improvement.
Detailed knowledge across most areas in which the Company specializes.
Strong executive-level leadership, communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.
