Job Overview:

Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all. Join an inclusive team passionate about one thing: using their expertise in the relentless pursuit of innovation for customers and partners. The solutions we build help make everything from virtual reality experiences to breakthroughs in neural networks possible. We do it all while committing to integrity, sustainability, and giving back to our communities. Because doing so can fuel the very innovation we are pursuing.

As Senior R&D EUV Photolithography Materials Engineer at Micron Technology in Boise, Idaho, you will lead material optimization projects for advanced memory devices. Our team focuses on photoresists for Extreme Ultraviolet (EUV) and 193nm immersion lithography, but we also evaluate spin-on hardmasks and photoresists for I-line and 248 nm lithography.

We collaborate with our team of process engineers to define material requirements and timelines. We coordinate with suppliers on material evaluations to improve imaging performance, quality, and cost. After identifying promising materials, you will work with our process, procurement, and quality teams to implement the best material. You will spend several hours per week in the cleanroom.

Our team collaborates with other technology development and manufacturing sites worldwide. You may lead alignment projects to ensure all fabs are matched on the best processes. You will also address process issues with pilot manufacturing, support process excursions, and lead continuous improvement projects.

Responsibilities and Duties include, but not limited to:
  • We are looking for people with strong aptitude in research and development and an interest and capability to build new production-worthy and low-cost photolithography technologies.

  • Share technical data and work closely with suppliers to optimize materials for specific applications.

  • Work in a cleanroom several times a week, follow safety procedures, and use appropriate personal protection equipment.

  • Collaborate with groups across different departments, sites, and geographies. Maintain global alignment on photo materials and process conditions.

  • Provide technical support for excursions related to photo materials, both in Boise and at other Micron sites.

Qualifications and Skills :
  • Degree/Major: M.S. or Ph.D. in Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science, or study relevant to Photolithography with 2 year’ semiconductor process related experience; or a B.S. in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Material Science with 5 years’ semiconductor process related experience with emphasis on Photolithography.

  • Hands-on experience with cleanroom equipment, including familiarity with lithography equipment and processing, and related metrology. Experience with EUV lithography strongly preferred.

  • Knowledge and an understanding of chemical processes specific to lithography, including photoresists for EUV lithography or advanced lithography nodes.

  • Knowledge of optics for photolithography or experience with photolithography simulation software such as Prolith or S-Litho is helpful

  • Coursework or proven experience showing strong statistical analysis skills, including design of experiments and data analysis. Experience with JMP, Python, or other statistical analysis software is helpful

  • Flexibility to work occasional weekends and evenings, as needed.
