voestalpine Roll Forming Corporation is seeking a motivated and analytical Estimator / Cost Engineer to join our growing Solutions & Development team. Whether you’re early in your career or a seasoned manufacturing cost expert, we want to hear from you. 


In this role, you’ll play a key part in supporting new business growth by developing accurate, competitive cost estimates for custom roll-formed products. You’ll collaborate closely with Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and other internal teams to ensure every quote reflects sound technical and financial analysis.


 

What You’ll Do


Core Responsibilities (All Levels):

  • Review customer RFQ requirements, engineering drawings, and specifications.
  • Develop detailed cost estimates including materials, labor, tooling, equipment, overhead, quality, and outside services.
  • Analyze manufacturing processes, cycle times, and capacity needs.
  • Partner with Sales and Business Development during customer reviews and technical discussions.
  • Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Finance, and others.
  • Prepare clear and accurate cost summaries and documentation for management review.
  • Maintain historical cost data and support improvements to estimating tools and processes.


Additional Responsibilities (Based on Experience Level):

Estimator II

  • Evaluate process feasibility and risks for new products.
  • Support estimating “specials” and unique customer requests.
  • Provide technical guidance to less experienced teammates.


Estimator III

  • Optimize manufacturing methods to reduce cost, improve quality, and enhance productivity.
  • Identify and document CAPEX requirements.
  • Lead training and development for others on estimating practices.

 

What You Bring

We are open to a range of experience — from early-career candidates to experienced cost engineers. 


Preferred Experience:

  • Manufacturing or roll forming cost estimating
  • Understanding of production processes, tooling, material flow, and manufacturing standards.
  • Proficiency with MS Excel and comfort using technical data.
  • Experience with CRM (Salesforce preferred) and ERP/MRP systems (Global Shop Solutions preferred).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings; experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, or CATIA is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.


Education:

  • Associate degree in a technical field OR equivalent training/experience. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field preferred 


Other Requirements:

  • Must meet ITAR/EAR requirements as a U.S. Person.
  • Ability to travel occasionally.
