Key Responsibilities
Review and interpret customer 3D CAD models (CATIA), blueprints, and specifications to determine project scope.
Calculate comprehensive labor hours (Design, CNC, Bench, Assembly) and material costs.
Determine the most efficient manufacturing sequence, including specialized outside services like heat treating, stress relieving, and NADCAP-certified plating.
Secure competitive quotes for raw materials and outsourced components to ensure bid competitiveness.
Work with the Design and Shop Floor teams to ensure manufacturability and alignment with shop capacity.
Maintain detailed records of quote assumptions and participate in "kick-off" meetings for won projects.
Required Qualifications
3–5+ years in aerospace tooling, jig/fixture estimating, or precision machining.
Strong ability to read blueprints and a solid understanding of GD&T.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Ability to view/measure files in CATIA is a plus.
Familiarity with aerospace standards (AS9100) and material properties.
Must meet ITAR requirements (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident).
Preferred Skills
Experience with large-scale tooling or Invar weldments.
Background in hands-on machining or tool making.
Strong communication skills for direct interaction with customer purchasing and engineering departments
