Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Estimator to join a growing manufacturing team specializing in sheet metal fabrication. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates by reviewing technical drawings, specifications, and project requirements. This role requires close collaboration with engineering, production, and sales teams to support project planning, customer quotations, and overall business profitability.

Job Roles and Responsibilities

  • Review engineering drawings, blueprints, CAD files, and technical specifications to determine project requirements.

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for fabrication projects, including material, labor, equipment, and processing costs.

  • Analyze manufacturing processes such as cutting, forming, welding, finishing, and assembly during the estimation process.

  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and sales teams to clarify technical requirements and resolve project-related questions.

  • Prepare and submit detailed quotations and proposals for customers.

  • Track outstanding quotations and provide follow-up support for business development activities.

  • Compare estimated costs with actual project performance and assist in improving estimation accuracy.

  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and recommend process improvements.

  • Maintain accurate estimating records and documentation.

  • Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications and Certifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in estimating, preferably within sheet metal fabrication or manufacturing.

  • Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, including laser cutting, punching, forming, welding, and finishing.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical specifications.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Experience with ERP, MRP, or estimating software is an advantage.

  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Hands-on experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment is preferred.

  • Educational background in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical discipline is preferred.
