In the United States, Hino Motors Manufacturing U.S.A. currently has employees in 4 states including Michigan, Arkansas, West Virginia and California. The Corporate Office resides in Novi, Michigan. Hino assembles medium-duty trucks at its Mineral Wells, West Virginia plant. Its manufacturing facilities in Marion, Arkansas produces axles, knuckles and suspension components for Toyota’s Tacoma, Tundra and Sequoia. Hino’s Parts Distribution Center in Mira Loma, California supplies Latin American and Caribbean distributors with genuine Hino service parts. 


We are currently seeking an Ergonomic Specialist for our Marion, AR location reporting directly to the Manager, Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS). This individual will be responsible for the identification and resolution of ergonomic issues which will drive the reduction of injuries and manufacturing inefficiencies in the Marion, AR Site.  The successful candidate will possess the ability to work in a dynamic, collaborative and fast-paced environment. 


 Key Responsibilities

Act as the subject matter expert in the field of ergonomics on all Existing and New product programs.

Ensure Ergonomics requirements implemented throughout the duration of all new product programs.

Conduct Ergonomic risk analysis of current and new product designs and establish threshold limit values. Work collaboratively with product designers, manufacturing engineering, production, etc. to ensure threshold limit values are met.

Manage all ergonomic issues to closure and coordinate follow-up through appropriate engineering team.

Use 3D Virtual Digital Human Model (DHM) Simulations to ensure technical ergonomic options are understood and acceptable for implementation on all new and current products.

Participate and lead as appropriate specific ergonomics initiatives/projects as needed.

Provide timely written reports and updates on specific ergonomics projects.

Other contributions as required.


Requirements

Minimum of 5~7 years demonstrated ergonomics experience. Automotive experience highly desirable.

Bachelor's degree (Kinesiology, Human Kinetics, Industrial, Systems, or Mechanical Engineering preferred)

Demonstrated ability to organize, plan and execute manufacturing and/or ergonomic manufacturing projects. (Required)

High level of interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Ability to interact with all levels of the organization. (Required).

Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects and/or programs is required

High level of analytical ability and problem-solving skills are required

Demonstrated ability to work well with multiple customers at the same time is required.

Implemented ergonomic requirements on a launch programs and areas in the plant.

Management of all ergonomic issues with closure and follow up.

Excellent communications with operations, manufacturing engineering and Team Members.

<5% travel; limited


Preferences

Course work in ergonomics or degree in ergonomics, human kinetics, or related ergonomics degree is preferred

Automotive experience preferred

Manufacturing experience preferred

1-year experience with ergonomic analytical tools preferred

Knowledge of 3D CAD software and Digital Human Modeling is preferred
