Job Title: Equipment Maintenance Technician
Location: Covington, GA 30014
Duration: 6 months (possible extension)
Pay Rate: $29.50/hr W2
Shift: 3rd Shift
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 11:00 PM–7:30 AM
Hours: 40 hours/week
Overtime: Mandatory weekend overtime; candidates must be flexible for other shifts as needed
Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician will support facility and automated conveyor system maintenance at a Global Distribution Center. The role requires hands-on experience troubleshooting conveyor systems and performing preventive maintenance, along with electrical, controls, and mechanical skills.
Responsibilities
- Manage, troubleshoot, and perform preventive maintenance on automated conveyor systems.
- Conduct regular facility inspections and identify maintenance issues.
- Perform general facility maintenance, including plumbing and electrical repairs.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, controls, HVAC, mechanical, and building systems.
- Install and set up new equipment and machinery.
- Perform preventive maintenance on machinery, buildings, and grounds.
- Maintain MHE batteries as required.
- Detect and report defective materials or unsafe/questionable conditions.
- Maintain inventory of repair equipment and supplies.
- Document installation, repair, and maintenance activities.
- Follow quality standards, safety requirements, and health and safety regulations.
- Assist other facility maintenance staff with maintenance activities as directed.
- Troubleshoot, problem-solve, and use judgment to perform maintenance tasks.
- Support off-shift, weekend, and call-in maintenance activities as required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 3.5–5 years of real-world maintenance experience preferred.
- 2–3 years of relevant experience required.
- Hands-on experience with conveyor systems.
- Experience troubleshooting and performing preventive maintenance.
- Electrical, controls, and mechanical maintenance skills.
- Auto/fleet mechanics are not a fit for this position.
Preferred Skills
- Basic electrical knowledge of 12V/24V AC/DC power.
- Basic electrical knowledge of 120V/208V power.
- Basic electrical knowledge of 277V/480V power.
- Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Work Order processes and SAP experience.
