Equipment Engineering/Maintenance Technician

Primary Responsibilities:

The technician will perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting to determine problems in non-functioning electro-mechanical equipment used in the manufacturing process. This includes dismantling, adjusting, repairing, and assembling equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, rough sketches, or drawings. Will use test and diagnostic equipment to perform checkouts. Will rebuild manufacturing equipment as required. May perform equipment modifications as directed by manufacturing engineers.  Primary work is to repair and rebuild equipment to support the manufacturing of our ceramic components.  

Work Schedule:  

Will train on 1st shift Monday-Friday for approximately 1-3 months.  Following training, the regular position will be an off-shift (weekend, 2nd, or 3rd shift), with specific work hours open for discussion.  Shift differential will be provided after training.

Job Requirements include:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to periodically work in hot environment, lift 50 lbs., climb ladders and stairs, and operate forklifts.
  • Troubleshoot PLC’s using input and output lights.  
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience using electrical test equipment and other tools to diagnose and resolve issues. 
  • Ability to read electrical drawings and repair manuals, and to assemble equipment to layout plans. 
  • Ability to understand and troubleshoot silicon-controlled rectifiers, Watlow, Omega and Eurotherm temperature controllers.
  • Ability to work well with team members.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new technology, new software, and new procedures.
  • Performing preventive maintenance on regular cycles. 
  • Cleaning, painting, and general housekeeping upon request. 
  • Occasional call-ins after hours, weekends, and holidays to respond to rare emergencies.   

Preferred Skills:

  • Electrical, Pneumatic & hydraulic troubleshooting experience. 
  • Experience using PLC software, such as Allen Bradley 500 or 5000.
  • Microsoft Office.
