Position Summary
The Equipment Cleaner is responsible for cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining machinery, tools, and work areas to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations. This role plays a critical part in supporting production by preventing contamination, reducing equipment downtime, and maintaining a clean work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize production equipment, machinery, and tools using approved cleaning agents and procedures
- Disassemble and reassemble equipment as needed for thorough cleaning
- Remove debris, grease, and residue to maintain proper equipment function
- Perform routine inspections to identify wear, damage, or maintenance needs
- Report equipment issues or malfunctions to supervisors promptly
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and company policies, including proper use of PPE
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, including floors, walls, and surrounding spaces
- Dispose of waste and cleaning materials in accordance with company and safety guidelines
- Support production teams by ensuring equipment is ready for use
Qualifications
- Previous cleaning or industrial sanitation experience preferred
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety procedures
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working with cleaning chemicals and industrial equipment
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and environments
Work Environment
This position may require working in manufacturing, warehouse, or production settings with exposure to noise, moving machinery, and cleaning chemicals.
Schedule
Shift and hours may vary depending on operational needs; flexibility for overtime or weekends may be required.
