Job Overview: The EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of engineering, procurement, and construction activities related to large-scale projects. This role requires strong leadership, project management skills, technical expertise, and the ability to coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery within scope, schedule, and budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Execution:
- Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with the project team.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards.
- Monitor project progress and performance, identifying and addressing any issues or deviations from the plan.
- Responsible for change management process in accordance with contract requirements
Stakeholder Management:
- Liaise with clients, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to establish clear communication channels and ensure alignment of project objectives.
- Address stakeholders' concerns and resolve conflicts in a timely and effective manner.
Team Leadership and Management:
- Provide leadership and direction to the project team, including engineers, procurement specialists, construction managers, and other personnel.
- Foster a collaborative and productive work environment, promoting teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Implement risk management processes and procedures to minimize project disruptions and cost overruns.
Quality Assurance and Control:
- Establish and enforce quality standards and procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with quality requirements and industry best practices.
Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:
- Promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship on the project site.
- Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
- Implement measures to prevent accidents, injuries, and environmental incidents.
Cost Control and Financial Management:
- Monitor project expenditures and control costs to align with the approved budget.
- Review and approve project-related expenses, invoices, and change orders.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare regular progress reports, financial summaries, and other project documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records of project activities, including meeting minutes, correspondence, and contractual agreements.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Proven experience (typically 10+ years) in project management, with a focus on EPC projects in industries such as oil and gas, power generation, renewable energy, or infrastructure.
- Leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of the EPC contract structure, requirements, and change management.
- In-depth knowledge of engineering principles, construction methodologies, and procurement practices.
- Familiarity with project management tools and software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, SAP).
- Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards relevant to EPC projects.
