 Great Day Improvements / Champion Window - Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager

As the primary point of contact for safety-related matters within the plant, this role reports to the Director of Operations to ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. This role is essential in driving consumer referability by ensuring a safe, compliant, and high-performing work environment that meets regulatory safety standards. Additionally, the EHS Manager contributes to the company's "Destination Employer" culture by making safety a core pillar of the employee experience, reinforcing trust, engagement, and long-term retention.

 

Pay Range: $85,000 - $95,000 per year

Responsibilities

Safety Compliance & Program Management: • Serve as the primary safety liaison for the COE, addressing safety concerns and facilitating compliance with all company policies and regulatory requirements.• Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures to promote a strong safety culture.• Conduct routine safety inspections, hazard assessments, and audits to proactively identify risks and areas for improvement.• Compile, analyze, and report key safety metrics (e.g., incident rates, near-misses, training completion, and compliance trends) • Develop and publish KPIs to enhance awareness and continuous improvement in safety performance and key metrics• Maintain and update safety dashboards and reporting tools to provide leadership with real-time visibility into safety performance.• Oversee the post-incident investigation process, ensuring accurate reporting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.• Maintain OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and NIOSH compliance by staying up to date on regulatory changes and industry best practices.• Work with the Manufacturing Team (Ops Director, Maintenance, and Continuous Improvement Manager) on new equipment placement, new plant layouts, etc. To ensure lean manufacturing flow is considered along with employee safety.

Incident & Injury Management:• Serve as the primary contact for work-related injury and illness reporting, ensuring proper documentation and regulatory compliance.• Conduct follow-ups on near-miss incidents, ensuring corrective actions are implemented to prevent future occurrences.• Ensure incident reports are thorough, including relevant documentation, witness statements, and photographs.• Oversee the Return-to-Work/Transitional Work Program, supporting employees’ safe and timely return to work.• Assist with Workers Compensation Claims and processes.• Conduct thorough investigations of all incidents to uncover root cause and work with appropriate team members to mitigate or eliminate the hazard. • Track, analyze, and report injury trends to recommend targeted safety interventions.

 

Training & Employee Engagement:• Facilitate mandatory OSHA compliance training and safety onboarding for new employees.• Partner with department managers to reinforce safety training, conduct toolbox talks, and ensure clear communication of policies.• Manage and oversee PPE inventory, distribution, and requests to ensure proper availability and usage.• Monitor and report on training completion rates to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.• Develop and maintain safety training dashboards, providing insights into participation and effectiveness.

Continuous Improvement & Special Projects:• Develop and Lead initiatives to enhance workplace safety culture through proactive safety campaigns and engagement activities.• Analyze safety audit data to identify trends and recommend improvements.• Develops and executes department-specific safety procedures and Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs).• Oversee the signage, labeling, and other visual safety communication efforts throughout the facility.• Works in tandem with the Plant Manager to conduct daily audits of specific departments to ensure that they align with safety and other lean manufacturing processes.

Consumer Referability & Destination Employer Culture• Develop and Execute initiatives that reduce workplace incidents and improve efficiency, contributing to a safer, more reliable, and referable brand.• Engage employees in safety-focused training and discussions, reinforcing a culture where safety is a shared responsibility.• Actively contribute to making the company a "Destination Employer" by ensuring employees feel safe, valued, and empowered in their work environment.• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly safety reports summarizing key trends, compliance status, and recommended actions for leadership review.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in EHS, safety compliance, and OSHA 30 Certification (manufacturing environment preferred).• College degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred (equivalent experience considered).• Strong knowledge and experience of OSHA standards, regulatory compliance, and recordkeeping requirements.• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting and documentation.• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills with the ability to analyze risks and implement effective solutions.• Influential Leadership Style.• Effective communication skills (verbal & written) with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.• Ability to work independently and proactively address safety concerns.• Ability to build in maintain relationships with all levels of the organization.
