Overview

Up North Plastics, a division of Poly-America, is currently seeking Entry Level Manufacturing Engineers to join our team.  Up North Plastics produces several lines of polyethylene products including high quality trash bags, construction films, and geomembrane liners.  Up North Plastics and Poly-America are also the most technologically advanced and largest recyclers and compounders of polyethylene in the world.

***Starting between $20.00-$24.00 per hour depending on experience***

Qualifications

• Strong computer skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to change priorities quickly
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Strong communication skills
• College degree (associates or bachelors) a plus
• Previous manufacturing experience a plus

Responsibilities

Entry Level Manufacturing Engineers at Up North Plastics cross train in a number of different departments and positions.  These employees will train in our production departments, quality lab, re-work department, shipping department, maintenance department, reprocessing department, as well as in our office. Entry Level Manufacturing Engineers will be required to operate production equipment, complete production paperwork, complete reports on the computer, monitor and check product quality, 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Record production downtime
• Correctly complete paperwork
• Monitor scrap rates
• Operate production lines
• Monitor and check film quality
• Use lab equipment to check quality of products
• Analyzing data and forming solutions to issues that may arise
• Prepare for and assist in audits
• Assist in setting up automation equipment
• General maintenance on industrial and automation euipment 
• Assist in training in new employees
• Additional responsibilities and opportunities as they become necessary and/or are assigned by management
