The Entry Level Maintenance Technician will be learning from Technicians to serve the function of maintaining, repairing, and upgrading a variety of machines and tools located throughout the facility in a manner that is consistent with the company’s values and operating philosophy. This position requires an advanced knowledge of mechanical equipment, construction, electrical wiring, circuitry, electronic controls and an understanding of the product production processes.  


OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Performs a variety of routine and semi-skilled tasks involving the repair and maintenance of facilities equipment and buildings. Employee may work independently on routine recurring assignments, or assist a skilled worker in performing more complex tasks. Work is most often uncomplicated, well-defined, and requires minimum decision-making. Depending on assignment, duties may include:
  • Making routine plumbing repairs (example: repairing leaks, unplugging toilets and drains, etc.)
  • Replacing light bulbs and fluorescent lights, and making electrical related repairs (example: replacing electrical receptacles, etc.)
  • Performing routine carpentry (example: moving/mounting pictures, shelving, white boards, painting, etc.)
  • More difficult or skilled work may be performed under the direct supervision of a Maintenance Lead or skilled maintenance technician until qualified to work independently.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • Trade School or technical education preferred
  • Valid Drivers License

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Medium Work – Regularly exerts up to 50 pounds with or without assistance. Walking and standing is required more than 50% of the day.
  • Vision – Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as analyzing data, viewing a computer terminal, inspection involving small defects or welds, use and operation of machines, use of measurement devices, etc
  • Bending/Stooping – Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. Full motion of the body, lower extremities and back muscles.
  • Walking – Moving about on foot to travel and accomplish tasks, including long distances or site to site
