Micron’s Central Process Integration Engineering (CPIE) organization partners across global fabs to drive yield excellence, process robustness, and system-level innovation. The team focuses on advancing yield methodologies, deploying best known methods, and enabling data‑driven improvements across the Micron network.
This CPIE Yield Engineering (YE) role is responsible for starting up, developing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to improve product quality, reliability, and yield. The position provides technical leadership on yield improvement initiatives, risk management, and system‑level projects, while resolving complex manufacturing line issues through structured problem‑solving methodologies.
Responsibilities
  • Lead strategic yield initiatives, driving high‑impact yield improvements and supporting AI transformation of yield management systems.
  • Provide technical leadership to deliver complex projects in collaboration with Fab, TD, PE, and GQ partners.
  • Identify yield improvement opportunities using cross‑fab Pareto benchmarking and develop or revalidate advanced yield models.
  • Lead YE SWAT teams to define, standardize, and deploy global Best Known Methods across all sites.
  • Communicate technical insights effectively to influence decisions while operating with minimal supervision in a global environment.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in a relevant engineering or science field.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in Process Integration Engineering or related roles; new college graduates with strong interest in yield engineering are also eligible.
  • Proficiency with data analytics and yield analysis tools such as Yield3, JMP, and Python.
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor fabrication, probe, backend, and reliability impacts.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform root‑cause analysis using failure analysis, FMEA, 8D, SPC, or model‑based problem‑solving approaches.
  • Willingness to travel to support global business needs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Expertise in machine learning or deep learning techniques for yield prediction.
  • Knowledge of HBM and 3D‑stacking architectures, including TSV and micro‑bump technologies.
  • Experience leading multi‑site or global engineering task forces.
  • Advanced expertise in SPC to identify complex interactions across Fab, Probe, and Backend operations
