CNC Programmer

The Engineering Technician, CNC Programmer works with the Scheduling Manager and Engineering on improvement, quality/manufacturing issues, CNC program files, and issue resolution.

Essential Functions:

  • Identify and coordinate with Scheduling Manager on ideas and plans for continuous improvement
  • Work with Engineering on potential quality/manufacturing issues after analysis of drawings, specifications, and product design
  • Create new CNC programs, and modify existing ones for increased efficiency
  • Control the CNC program files for a variety of programs, use CAM software to generate tool paths
  • Investigate and support machining issue resolution in partnership with operators, Maintenance, and Engineering
  • Support Product Development in the prototyping process by helping with tooling specification/acquisition, and knowledge of machine capabilities

Other Duties

  • Perform duties within the standards of the Watson ISO 9001 Management System
  • Create strategies for a variety of machine operations and designate proper tooling to assure the highest quality
  • Facilitate purchase of tooling, and maintain sufficient inventory
  • Facilitate ongoing training of setup procedures and machining processes for operators
  • Review CAD files, and monitor all programs to ensure they follow specification and Watson standards

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of machine shop experience and trade school completion; or equivalent demonstrated proficiency
  • Experience with software such as Trumpf TruTops, Emmegi CamPlus, and CIM-TECH

Qualifications
