Description

Develops and manages SMT assembly and soldering processes and associated staff in medium to high-mixed complex PCBA environment.

Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Plans and develops processes and capacity utilization strategy for SMT assembly operation.
  • Solder paste printing, automated solder paste inspection, component placement, reflow soldering, automated optical inspection, automated X-ray inspection, 2D and 5D.
  • Identify and resolve production/quality issues.
  • Ensure production readiness of key processes in PCB assembly cycle.
  • Designs experiments to develop optimum production processes such as solder paste selection, stencil designs, feeder set up methodology, selective soldering techniques.
  • Optimizes machine set up and programming sequences.
  • Troubleshoots to root-cause equipment and process related problems.
  • Writes Pre and Post build DFM reports in customer centric manner.
  • Manipulates data files to accomplish above using Gerber, OB++, various CAD packages and 3D modeling such as Solidworks.

  • Able to work directly with customer’s engineering group to improve designs and enhance processes.
