Position Summary:

The engineering technician will provide technical and administrative support to the Engineering & Project Departments

Responsibilities/Competencies

  • Audit Material Status Report (MSR) versus P&IDs to ensure equipment and instrumentation is accounted for SI quote and purchase.
  • Support squad check reviews of Material Requisitions (RFQ’s) and Purchase Orders (PO) for engineered mechanical, instrumentation, and electrical equipment.
  • Update job P&IDs to show engineering and procurement progress for all SI and Vendor equipment.
  • Review P&ID’s, ISO’s, Vendor Drawings, and Datasheets for detailed consistency
  • Create and maintain engineering equipment, instruments, line, and manual valve lists
  • Assist in the development of turnover documentation from Engineering to Document Control
  • Utilize Engineering standards and schedules for piping, electrical, and valves
  • Maintain and track changes to project scope and change orders
  • Work closely with Engineers of all disciplines to ensure proper specifications and requirements
  • Assist EPM’s with project items as needed
  • Ability to cross train with EPM techs
  • Provide support as needed to Process / Mechanical / Civil / Instrumentation / Electrical groups

Requirements

  • Entry level experience in construction, project and/or document management
  • Strong organizational skills including alphabetization and numerical filing
  • Detail oriented with ability to prioritize
  • Computer literacy with thorough knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook required
  • Ability to organize and maintain multiple project group document requirements
  • Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communications skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a diverse multi-craft team environment
  • Ability to work overtime and maintain deadlines
