The Opportunity
This position works out of our Westfield, IN location in the Structural Heart division.

The Engineering Supervisor will oversee a team of engineers, and/or technicians that provide on market support for manufacturing of electro/mechanical hardware products. The Supervisor will ensure that projects and tasks are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance to quality system requirements
What You’ll Work On
- Responsible for overseeing the work of an engineering team that support electro/mechanical products. Provide leadership, guidance, and direction to their staff while also ensuring that engineering deliverables meet quality standards and deadlines.
- Ensures that the engineering group plans and executes on market product design change packages (DCP) and on market product support engineering tasks to timeline and budget.
- Ensures project management techniques are utilized to identify and shorten the critical path tasks in DCP/project delivery schedules.
- Supervises the identification and qualification of end of life BOM components to ensure availability of raw materials.
- Resolves technical issues at custom component suppliers and improves supplier process capability to ensure continuity of supply.
- Supervises resolution of manufacturing equipment technical issues to maintain production line up time.
- Negotiates quality issue resolution with Quality System representatives and sets strategy approach for the department’s non-conformance records.
- Supervises component incoming inspection failure resolution by assessing inputs from Quality, Supply Chain, and the supplier prior to proposing a resolution approach.
- Represent engineering team function at standing meetings with cross functional partners.
- Implement the necessary supply continuity, cost improvement, product lifecycle management, and regulatory driven changes needed to support the business.
- Champion a culture of teamwork, communication, and recognition.
- Ensures that all personal and team member training is up to date and in compliance.
- Support a culture that embraces the safety of the work environment and the safety of our customer’s patients by compliance with company EHS procedures, policies, and GMP requirements.
- Establish department goals, tracking, and reporting KPIs, and drive continuous improvement efforts
- Review and approve documents including standard operating procedures, technical specifications, and protocols / reports
- Liaise with functional or operational area managers (for example in supply and logistics, or engineering) to understand their current and future needs and develop plans, cost estimates, and schedules for integrating these needs into existing manufacturing activities.
- Plan, prioritize, and manage production line maintenance or downtimes to minimize disruptions to manufacturing schedules.
Shift: Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 4:30PM with potential overtime
Required Qualifications
- BS degree in Engineering or Technical Field required or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years manufacturing engineering experience required.
- Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
- Ability to work within a team and in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
- Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
- Multitasks, prioritizes, and meets deadlines in timely manner.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
- Ability to travel approximately 5%.
Preferred Qualifications
- People management experience preferred.
- Experience designing and testing medical devices preferred.
- Experience developing manufacturing processes and technologies and designing for manufacturability preferred.
- Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.
- Production ramp up experience.

$86,700.00 – $173,300.00
