SUMMARY OF POSITION:


The Engineering Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day activities of the robotics, process, and controls engineering team. This role supports the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and automation systems. Works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations aligned with company goals

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Supervise a small-to-mid-size team of engineers and technicians across robotics, process, and controls disciplines.
  • Coordinate daily engineering tasks, project timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Provide technical guidance and support for troubleshooting and optimizing automated systems and manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with NPI and production teams to support process development and equipment integration.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of engineering data, process parameters, and system configurations.
  • Support internal and external audits related to process and automation systems.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including Six Sigma and Lean projects.
  • Promote and enforce safety and environmental compliance across engineering activities.
  • Assist in the development and execution of FMEAs and control plans for new and existing processes.
  • Maintain and improve SPC/SQC systems for process monitoring and control.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
  • Maintain project management schedule of capital equipment installations
  • Support local multi production sites

 EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
  • 5-7 years related equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
  • Experienced in Solidworks CAD software
  • Experience in developing and documenting manufacturing processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ability to create and present technical reports to large groups of people
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience in coordinating failure analysis test plans (destructive and non-destructive)

PREFERRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS:

  • Manufacturing / process knowledge strongly desired


PHYSICAL DEMANDS WHILE PERFORMING THE JOB:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle delicate parts.
  • The employee is occasionally required to lift and move objects up to 40 pounds.
  • Close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT OF THE JOB:

  • Regularly exposed to moving equipment, mechanical parts, ovens, and risk of burns.
  • The physical environment requires the employee to work in a normal office setting with frequent visits to the manufacturing floor.
  • The employee will be required to use personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent exposure to hazardous materials commonly used in a manufacturing environment (i.e., safety glasses and shoes, gloves, ear plugs/covers, mask, cleanroom suit).
  • Low noise levels in office environment.
  • High noise levels while working near operating machines.
  • Physical hazards while working near moving equipment and mechanical parts.
  • Possible breathing of fumes, odors, dust, and mist.
