York Employment is seeking an Engineering Project Manager in the San Diego area. (Onsite, no hybrid)

Ideal Candidate Profile
- Seeking a highly qualified Engineering Project Manager with a strong aerospace background to support F/A-18 aircraft sustainment efforts. The ideal candidate will have:
- Active Secret Security Clearance required
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline
- Aircraft experience required (military aviation preferred; general aviation experience considered)

Ideal background: Former Navy pilot or military with aerospace industry experience
Position Responsibilities
- Develop and execute project sustainment activities supporting the F/A-18 aircraft by reviewing program proposals, requirements, and project plans.
- Collaborate with leadership and stakeholders to define project objectives, deliverables, schedules, and resource requirements.
- Identify project phases, assign responsibilities, and coordinate cross-functional engineering and logistics teams.
- Analyze product designs, customer requirements, and performance standards to establish project specifications.
- Plan and conduct technical studies, evaluations, and testing to validate aircraft performance and sustainment requirements.
- Develop, maintain, and manage detailed project schedules, staffing plans, and execution plans.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, resolve issues, and implement corrective actions to maintain timelines.
- Review engineering designs, specifications, and schedule changes while providing recommendations to management.
- Prepare project status reports, analyze program trends, and provide strategic recommendations.
- Lead engineering development efforts involving multidisciplinary engineering and logistics teams.
- Manage complex engineering projects from initial concept through completion while ensuring schedule, cost, and quality objectives are achieved.
- Serve as a primary liaison between FST leadership, customers, engineering teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Maintain project documentation, including project plans, staffing plans, schedules, and other program management materials.
Required Qualifications
- 3–10 years of experience in engineering and/or aerospace logistics program/project management.
- Experience supporting aircraft programs, sustainment, engineering development, or defense aviation projects.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving abilities.
- Active Secret clearance required.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related technical discipline.
