Job Summary
General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.
Under general supervision and with on-going review, this position supports program engineering and manufacturing by serving as a liaison between the engineering and manufacturing departments. Reviews program development progress and expedites critical path components and processes to maintain schedule. Evaluates and resolves engineering related production problems related to manufacturing, design, quality and material engineering. Maintains physical control of program assets. May negotiate lead times with suppliers and manage schedules for timely delivery. This position involves the exercise of independent judgment and discretion about matters of significance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Identify and resolve engineering and manufacturing issues, providing actionable recommendations to improve processes and outcomes.
- Review engineering specifications and drawings, collaborating across functional areas to exchange technical information.
- Coordinate delivery schedules for raw materials and sub-assemblies from external contractors.
- Utilize SAP to manage materials and inventory, including:
- Stock and requirements analysis
- Material document tracking
- Serial number management
- Lead time calculations
- Quality notification monitoring
- Outbound delivery tracking
- Monitor manufacturing progress for project-required parts to ensure timely completion.
- Facilitate the design and development process by serving as a liaison between engineering and manufacturing departments.
- Coordinate engineering support for manufacturing needs and maintain schedule alignment across teams.
- Maintain inventory control for project-specific prototypes.
- Manage Manufacturing Service Request activities and resolve scheduling conflicts based on priority.
- Review open engineering issues impacting sales orders; communicate potential manufacturing impacts to planning and alert engineering teams to relevant sales order activity.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive and proprietary information.
- Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
- Expected to maintain a productive and safe working environment in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Job Qualifications
- Typically requires a bachelor's degree in business, planning or a related discipline. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
- Must have a basic knowledge of production and engineering support principles and concepts and a general understanding of practices, techniques, and standards.
- Must be customer focused and possess:
- the ability to use independent analysis and judgment in developing solutions to a variety of non-routine problems
- excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills to accurately document and report findings to a variety of audiences
- excellent interpersonal skills to influence and guide employees and managers
- strong computer skills
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours and travel as required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance is required.
