POSITION OVERVIEW
The purpose of the Engineering Manager – Product Safety & Security I is to drive the strategic direction of all Gentex product safety and security engineering. This role is also responsible for leading Functional Safety, Cybersecurity or Regulatory engineering teams in identifying innovative solutions to product and regulatory requirements related to product safety and security.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Lead the development and execution of product safety and security engineering activities across all Gentex production products.
Set the vision for the product safety and security engineering team in accordance with the overall product safety and security engineering organization and corporate objectives.
Perform duties related to managing a team of direct reports including recruiting, training, retaining, and managing performance.
Serve as a mentor and coach to engineering leaders to optimize performance among various teams.
Drive the strategy and ongoing improvement of Gentex product safety and security engineering methods and processes.
Standardize product safety and security engineering processes to ensure ongoing success of production products.
Collaborate with various cross-functional teams throughout engineering to ensure project success.
Manage relationships with contract software development companies and coordinate staff augmentation contracts based on production program demands.

Complying with all Company policies and procedures, safety regulations, company safety policies and safely perform all duties, including but not limited to, promoting a safe workplace.
WHAT TO BRING
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or other related technical discipline.
5 years of relevant cybersecurity engineering experience.
2 years of experience managing a team of engineers.
WHAT WILL HELP
Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or other related technical discipline.
10 years of relevant cybersecurity engineering experience preferred.
5 years of experience managing a team of engineers preferred.
