Job Overview:


The Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing the engineering and programming staff of approximately fifteen employees and will work in conjunction with the sales, operations, and service groups in the Mid-Atlantic Region.


  • New Castle, DE primarily, but willing to travel to Crofton, MD and job sites

Job Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate the implementation of new Alerton, Delta & Tridium BMS installations & network infrastructure upgrades
  • Ensure existing engineering & programming standards are modified and maintained
  • Manage the engineering and programming team members, including setting annual SMART target goals and conducting annual performance reviews
  • Reviewing engineering & programming components to ensure compliance with current standards and/or creating new standards based on changes in technology
  • Recruiting new programmers and training/developing existing programmers and select technicians in the Service Team
  • Ensuring budgeted labor hours for programming and engineering are not exceeded and finding ways to improve efficiency with existing tasks to improve profitability
  • Reviewing engineering drawings for conformance with scope delivery to client
  • Reviewing HVAC equipment sequence of operations with conformance of scope delivery to client
  • Training of engineers and programmers as new Tridium, Alerton and Delta products become commercially available to ensure proper application
Researching and modeling new technology to support smart building technology/internet of


  • BS Building Automation Systems, BS Mechanical Engineering, BS Electrical Engineering, Associates Degree in Building Automation Systems, Electronics or equivalent job experience in the controls industry
  • 5+ years of experience programming BAS and integrating with third party equipment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced computer skills, including creating graphics for commercial BAS graphical user interfaces
  • Solid knowledge and practical experience with Computer Networks and advanced knowledge and practical experience of BAS Networks
  • Advanced knowledge of the controls concepts and strategies for commercial building HVAC mechanical systems
  • Strong understanding of commercial building mechanical & electrical operations
  • Understanding and practical experience with electrical and electronics concepts associated with BAS control systems
  • Ability to proficiently read mechanical and electrical blueprints.
  • Practical experience with commercial building construction site conditions, layouts, and safety practices.
  • Experience programming Alerton, Delta, and Tridium product lines is preferred, but not required
