In this role you will manage, coach, provide oversight and occasionally play a hands-on role in manufacturing processes responsible for the production of Aerospace quality products (tooling, ground and test support equipment) in a high mix / low volume production environment. Work product will include the development of mechanical design solutions (new and modified) for structures, pneumatics, hydraulics, tooling and fixtures.
Key Position Expectations / Responsibilities
Manage manufacturing engineers to include project scheduling and resource planning, in addition to active involvement in all phases of the hiring, review and performance management process.
Support and be the primary technical resource for all new process development projects and extension of existing products which include process design, machine tool programming, make/buy analysis, and follow up on project status.
Manage departmental activities to design new products, modify existing designs, improve production techniques, and develop test equipment and associated procedures.
Manage the development and review of engineering processes and procedures in addition to the development and ongoing administration of MOM and BOM creation.
Ensure technical integrity of manufacturing documentation and the Engineering Change Process (ECR).
Ensure a regular and consistent schedule for departmental, cross-departmental, project and postmortem meetings.
Provide direct leadership, mentoring & coaching to all site manufacturing engineers on technical standards and process ownership.
Involved with customers on all aspects of products and product performance as required.
Interact directly with suppliers/manufacturers on issues related to manufacturing, testing and production.
Ensure team members are consistently adhering to all safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with 7-10 years of progressive manufacturing engineering experience in the aerospace industry
Minimum 3 years of experience managing a team of engineers across multiple disciplines
Demonstrated knowledge of Manufacturing & Electrical Engineering technical standards, principles, theories, and techniques
Knowledge of drafting standards (Y14.5M-1994, Y14.38M, Y14.100M) and applicable ASTM standards
Knowledge of process control & measurement instrumentation (pressure, temperature, level, flow, force and torque)
Proficient in SolidWorks with experience creating solid models and sheet metal flat patterns from customer supplied 2D design packages. 3D modeling simulation a plus
Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic schematics generated in AutoCAD 2D format
Working knowledge of GD&T
Strong computer proficiency (Office 365) in addition to ERP systems background (Epicor / Kinetic a plus)
Excellent communication skills (both written & verbal)
Demonstrated leadership capability developing and leading cohesive teams
Detail oriented with ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize accordingly.
Experience with AS9100, lean manufacturing and continuous improvement technical a plus
