BAE Systems is looking for a Quality Engineering Assistant who is excited to join a leading top tier global aerospace & defense enterprise as part of Controls & Avionics Solutions business area. This role is a full time, onsite position located in Fort Wayne, IN.
The Quality Engineering Assistant will support CAS Engine Systems and the manufacturing floor/manufacturing quality engineer with quality issues, customer returns, react to key program metrics, participate in root cause and corrective action (RCCA) investigations, drive corrective actions, and foster continuous improvements.

Required Skills and Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1-2+ years of work experience in a manufacturing environment
- A passion for process improvement
- Well-organized
- Strong communicator capable of working through complex issues with peers, management and multiple functions
- Ability to mine data and visually display
- Technical mindset
Preferred Skills and Education
- Mechanical background with an understanding of electrical components and Circuit Card Assemblies.
- Experience with Oracle systems, Aegis/FLX factory Logix, PowerBI and/or Apex is a plus.
- Experience with control and disposition of non-conforming Material.
- Familiarity with IPC J-STD-001 Standard Soldering Requirements.
- Experience with use of inspection gages and measuring equipment.
- Experience with root cause corrective action investigations.
- Experience with metric trending.
Typical Education and Experience
Typically a High School Diploma and 2 years work experience or equivalent experience
