Job Summary
General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) designs and manufactures first-of-a-kind electromagnetic and electric power generation systems. GA-EMS' expanding portfolio of specialized products and integrated system solutions support critical fleet, space systems and satellites, missile defense, power and energy, and process and monitoring applications for defense, industrial, and commercial customers worldwide.
Our Space Systems team is looking to add a Systems Verification Engineer to support small satellite development programs. In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the successful integration and verification of GA-EMS developed SV constellations with their associated ground and launch systems.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Systems Verification Engineer responsible for:
- Lead Systems Verification activities across programs to ensure system and segment level verification & validation plans meet program statement of work, CDRLs, and requirements.
- Define verification architecture, verifications tools and support equipment required for conduct of system-level testing.
- Lead development of system end-to-end test plans and procedures, support development of segment test plans and procedures.
- Support development of system and segment verification scenarios, and support test plan and procedure development to ensure system design is fully verified.
- Support customer engagements and related engineering mission architecture and analysis products to shape the verification effort at the mission level and provide guidance at lower levels of abstraction.
- Collaborate with all levels of program and engineering staff on design, integration and verification matters and support other teams/disciplines as necessary.
- Establish collaborative work relationships with peers to ensure synergy across space, ground, and launch.
- Using traditional and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approaches lead and contribute to the development all SE work products which may include:
- CONOPS
- System Architecture
- Requirements and Interface Control Documents
- Mission and System Analysis
- Trade Studies
- Contributes to conduct of program design and readiness reviews.
- Hands on experience with AI&T, including environmental testing, is desired.

Job Qualifications
- Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; nine or more years of experience with a bachelors degree, seven or more years of experience with a masters degree, or four or more years with a PhD. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
- Must have prior experience in space domain and satellite segment design.
- Prior experience as a verification lead or technical lead strongly desired.
- Familiarity with the following tools is desired: Cameo or Magic Draw, DOORS, Atlassian (JIRA, Confluence).
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required enabling an effective leadership interface with other departments, all levels of management, professional and support staff, customers, potential customers, and government representatives.
- Must be able to work extended hours or weekends, as required, during SV test events.
- Active DoD Top Secret (TS) Security Clearance is required with ability to obtain TS/SCI.
