As a Quality Engineer, you’ll have the responsibility of initiating and completing internal and external quality audits (including regulatory and customer audits), the analysis of data, root cause corrective action program, and investigating all warranties

 

What you’ll do:

  • Lead warranty and customer complaint investigations to validate findings and work with the team to identify the process root cause and systematic preventive measures which commensurate with the findings.
  • Manage internal audits to include scheduling, performance and reporting out of internal and external vendor audits to ensure compliance.
  • Manage improvement plans to include initiating, assigning, following up, validating effectiveness and closing out corrective and preventive action request from all sources of findings.
  • Support the Quality Manager with hosting customer and National Aviation Authority (FAA, EASA, CAAC, etc.) Audits.
  • Complete Customer mail-in audit questionnaires, as requested.
  • Review and validate new process equipment and capabilities.
  • Review and validate self-evaluation of new product capabilities to ensure compliance with all technical and regulatory requirements before adding to capability listings and /or releasing first articles to return to service.
  • Review and approve operation routers, technical plans and special process parameters, etc. 
  • Review each revision of the OEM Manual. 
  • Submit Document Change Requests for any revision changes that impact current capabilities. 
  • Perform analysis of metric data to present trends and identify opportunities for improvement. 
  • Initiate and assign Preventive Action Requests to correct negative trends. 
  • Responsible for following internal quality system procedures and internal work instructions. 

 

Position Requirements:

  • 2 or more years of experience in a manufacturing, industrial or aerospace environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of company instruction, company process, quality and original equipment manufacturer manuals.
  • Proficient in selection and application of statistical techniques. (e.g., measuring KPI’s)
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret blueprints.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US.
  • Ability to communicate in English effectively.

 

Preferred Characteristics:

  • Strong planning, organizational, analytical, decision making, oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge or experience in ISO & AS quality management systems.
  • University degree in mechanical, industrial or aerospace engineering; or equivalent.
  • Thorough knowledge of FAA airworthiness certification requirements and other regulatory bodies like EASA, CAAC, and UK CAA.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and project management skills.
