SUMMARY

Participate in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using CAE to assist in modeling and analyzing challenges in product development. In this role, you will collaborate with experienced engineers to develop creative and practical solutions. You will also learn how to effectively communicate simulation methods, inputs, assumptions, and results to design engineering teams and leadership. You will contribute to both verbal discussions and written reports, making this a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a supportive, non-supervisory position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create models and perform analysis on products. Capable of learning and utilizing various CAE software such as ANSA/META, Abaqus, Optistruct, or other similar software.
  • Utilize HPC cluster to submit jobs and retrieve simulation data.
  • Develop and execute Engineering Work Requests (EWRs), applying appropriate simulation methods to maximize customer value.
  • Provide clear interpretation of analysis results through technical reports and presentations.
  • Identify and propose improvements to enhance performance, reduce costs, or lower weight based on analytical findings.
  • Follow established best practices for modeling methodologies.
  • Perform basic engineering analyses and calculations.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to complete work and meet deadlines.
  • Become familiar with source data from CREO or CATIA and related information required for analysis.
  • Learn and develop scripting processes for automation.
  • Conduct all duties in an ethical, professional manner consistent with the Oshkosh Way and company policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Regular attendance required.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Accredited Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar (i.e. Engineering Mechanics or Aerospace Engineering).
  • Related work or internship experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Accredited Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Mechanics
  • Experience with ANSA, Abaqus, Nastran, or Optistruct.
  • Experience with computer aided design (CAD) software tools.
  • Familiar with utilizing a High Performance Computing (HPC) cluster.
  • Understanding of computer programming and scripting. Ability to use and write Python as part of an automated process.

Pay Range:

$68,600.00 - $109,200.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
