Job Overview:

JOB SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE: Under the supervision of the Manager, Engineering 2, the Engineer, Industrial 1 key roles are to conduct, maintain records of, and update all time and motion studies for all labor operations. . To excel in this key role, you must be able communicate clearly.

 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

  • Conduct, maintain records of, and update all time and motion studies for all labor operations.
  • Maintain Labor Model used for quoting to assure accurate labor quotes for all work processes.
  • Analyze all current equipment productivity and performance results, research and recommend changes.
  • Assure that all production and warehouse floor layouts provide optimal efficiencies.
  • Conduct, maintain records of and update all labor studies for current product, drive improvement.
  • Develop all labor costs and standards for new production processes and/or service projects.
  • Assure that production efficiency is maximized by using Lean Manufacturing Principals
  • Analyzing and recommending changes to the flow of all materials through the production process.
  • Analyzing and making changes to the flow of materials in the receiving, storage and shipping processes.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering.
  • Experience using Advanced Excel or other analytics toolsets.
  • Familiarity with mechanical design software such as Inventor or SolidWorks.
  • Experience with CAD, Mentor Graphics, Cadence Allegro, and Zuken a plus.
  • Understand processes and procedures and can recognize non-conformance or problems.
  • Ability to work in a highly dynamic environment with an emphasis on teamwork, communication, and customer satisfaction.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a quantitative discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • Self-starter with demonstrated self-initiated goals and results.
  • Demonstrated capability to multitask in support of multiple concurrent projects and initiatives.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong documentation skills and attention to detail is required.
  • Commitment to work with a hands-on approach in a team atmosphere is required.
  • Ability to work independently and be effective in a fast-paced Contract Manufacturing environment.
  • This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
  • ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., “Green Card Holder”), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • Build capacity models and simulations that analyze production requirements and identify bottlenecks.
  • Conduct required work measurement, cost reduction, process/product flow analysis, and capacity utilization studies. Develop and assist team in executing modifications based on desired results.
  • Develop data visualizations and dashboards that reveal and highlight opportunities for improvements.
  • Create and execute excellence plans, lead data analysis, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Apply lean manufacturing techniques to reduce cost and increase yields.
  • May be required to develop cost estimates in support of proposals.

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Requires limited supervision for routine processes, can implement changes with detailed instruction.
  • Must be available for overtime work.
