Job Summary

The Fleet and Deployment Services team modifies and maintains the company assets to support company owned company operated (COCO) business opportunities, demonstrations and internal research and development (IRAD) projects.
Under general supervision with limited review, this position maintains the configuration management of a diverse fleet of prototype, pre-production and production aircraft and ground equipment. Assignments will focus on integrating emerging technology onto the company UAS, maintaining asset configuration records, and coordinating activity with flight operation, test operation, program office, and engineering teams. Assignments will also include investigation and resolution of engineering configuration problems of moderate scope and complexity. Assignments are normally accompanied by general instructions and suggestions, outlining possible approaches, sources or information, and potential problems to be encountered with work reviewed regularly for soundness of technical judgment, overall adequacy, and accuracy. Documents findings and implemented solutions and communicates results to engineering staff. Contacts are primarily internal with infrequent inter-organization or customer contact on routine matters. Provides direction to design or technician staff and may provide direction to less experienced professional staff. Tasks involve the exercise of independent judgment and discretion about matters of significance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Supports operation of engineering systems by evaluating and interpreting needs and problems and develops effective approaches to resolving those issues.
- Applies technical knowledge to analyze, investigate and resolve assigned engineering problems.
- Develops appropriate documentation of findings and implemented solutions. May be required to make brief technical presentations.
- Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; four or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree or two or more years of experience with a Master’s degree. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
- Must have a complete understanding of engineering concepts, principles, and theory with technical experience demonstrating the application of those concepts while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
- Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment and organize work assignments to meet established timetables.
- Excellent communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required, as well as the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to work extended hours as required. There will be frequent single and multiday engineering events at remote CONUS flight operations.
- Must be a self-starter who demonstrates initiative and the ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team. The ideal candidate will proactively identify opportunities for improvement and take ownership of their projects.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance is required.
